    After we paid $941.54 to redeem her family's property on May 15, 2015, Charima Allen was so happy that she burst into tears right outside the Treasurer's Office. Her reaction was captured on video by a photographer from The Island Packet/Beaufort Gazette.

    OUR FIRST HORRY COUNTY REDEMPTION The $4,112.97 we spent to redeem Brandy Beaty's childhood home near Myrtle Beach in Horry County, SC--was the largest tax payment we've ever made for a Gullah family outside of Beaufort County. The delinquent tax payment was made on Nov. 21, 2017. Her redemption was covered by The Georgetown Times--and was one of its most read stories over this year's Thanksgiving Weekend.

    OUR OLDEST AND FIRST COLLETON COUNTY CLIENT. Colleton County widow Elizabeth Lisbon, then 75 years-old, is the oldest person that we've assisted to date. She'd been struggling to pay her property taxes after unexpected expenses wrecked her fixed income budget. We paid her Colleton County property tax bill of $178.53 on Dec. 21, 2016.

    OUR LARGEST CASH REDEMPTION OF 2015 AND 2016. Michelle Lewis' childhood home in Beaufort, SC was redeemed for $5,823.11 on July 13, 2015. She paid only $300 of the redemption cost.
  • UNIQUE 4TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
    While millions across America were celebrating the 54th Anniversary of the historic March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, our Founder & CEO Theresa White celebrated PAFEN's 4th Anniversary by presenting a then one day record $10,870.36 in Cashier's Checks to Gullah Plantersville Community residents to redeem their property sold at the 2016 Georgetown County Delinquent Tax Sale. The relieved smiles of those families was well worth the 300 mile round-trip journey to the money.
  • OUR  LARGEST ONE DAY DELINQUENT TAX SALE  REDEMPTIONS/PROPERTY TAX PAYMENTS
    Thanks to the largest single donation we've ever received--$11,200 from the 100+ women Who Care Hilton Head Island--we spent $11, 001.92 on Dec. 19, 2017 to redeem and pay the 2017 taxes for Gullah-owned property on Hillton Head Island that belongs to the Rosa Lee Driessen Trust, and the Joseph W. Jones/Joseph W. Mitchell families. The families received $6,934.36, and $4, 067.56, respectively. And both are now eligible to enroll in the Beaufort County Installment Program, which allows taxpayers to repay taxes in 6 payments spread over 12 months.
  • SPECIAL 2017 PAN-AFRICAN FAMILY OUTREACH PROJECT--THE PLANTERSVILLE COMMUNITY OF GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC
    Truman Morant, Jr. received our largest redemption payment in the Plantersville Community of Georgetown County--$3,789.30--on Aug. 28, 2017
